Yoga each day really does keep the doctor away. A study conducted at Massachusetts General Hospital found that people who participated in a Relaxation Response Resiliency Program substantially reduced healthcare utilization compared to their control-group peers. When we improve our overall wellness, we’re freed from being fixated on physical and mental ailments that create obstacles on the path inward to find joy, love, God, the universe, whatever we’re seeking. When we’re well, it becomes easier to practice both inner and outer compassion.
